In April, Lindsey had the opportunity to speak at the Share Her Voice conference at the ESCP-Europe, Paris. The event, organized by Empow’Her and Wikistage, celebrated the theme of empowerment and the defense of girls’ and women’s rights, and focused on the importance of including men—at the level of individuals, communities and institutions—who defend women’s rights and want to promote equality between men and women.
By sharing real-life success stories and news of inspiring initiatives that have helped to promote women’s empowerment around the world, Share Her Voice has sent out a clear and uplifting message: “Everyone can be a changemaker. Each one of us can make a difference by speaking up in the public realm!”
Alongside Miren Bengoa (President of the UN Women French National Committee), Yann Borgstedt (Founder of the Womanity Foundation), Tatiana Moura (Director of PROMUNDO Europe), Charlotte Werner (Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company), and Shannon Galpin (Founder of Mountain to Mountain), Lindsey presented W4’s work and demonstrated how crucial it is for girls and women around the world to be part of the digital revolution. She concluded her speech by introducing W4’s Education Program Manager in Pakistan, Hena Gul, who received a standing ovation after sharing her poignant testimony, describing the unfailing determination and courage of young Pakistani girls who face unthinkable barriers and dangers in their efforts to access education in tribal regions.
