Fuelled by the power of digital technologies, a committed team of passionate social entrepreneurs, and the support of our wonderful donors, W4 works every day to ensure that girls’ and women’s safety, needs and rights are respected across the globe. How do we do it? We support small, grassroots organizations that are doing outstanding work to protect girls’ and women’s human rights and promote girls’ and women’s empowerment. – organizations that understand the daily realities of their local communities and adapt to the challenges specific to their projects. 

Why did we create W4?

We are energized by this reality: new technologies make it possible to support small, grassroots development organizations around the world – organizations that are working on the ground, every day, to protect girls’ and women’s human rights.

Today, everyone, no matter where he or she is located, can support grassroots development initiatives across the world.

Of course, each country faces its own distinct challenges. That’s why W4 supports field projects that are most effective at identifying and addressing the specific needs of local girls and women, in both developed and developing countries, and in both urban and rural communities.

We are building a community of individuals, businesses and foundations who recognize that girls’ and women’s empowerment is key to progress for all! Indeed, Sustainable Development Goal 5 - Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women – is the cornerstone for achieving all of the SDGs by 2030.
