During June and July 2018 W4 will match up to $25,000.00 dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact of your gift!

THE CHALLENGE

In countries like Guatemala, one of the poorest in Latin America, many women face the harsh realities of poverty, violence, and discrimination.

Currently, over a tenth of Guatemala’s population struggles to survive on less than $1.25 PPP per day – and over a quarter of families across the country are considered to be “multidimensionally poor”, facing deprivations in education, health, and their standard of living. In Guatemala there are also high rates of violence against women and high rates of child malnutrition, particularly among rural, indigenous populations.

THE SOLUTIONS WE'RE PROPOSING

Friendship Bridge is working to counter these issues and create transformative change through its programs, which combines microcredit, non-formal education, advanced education, and health services to empower women to create better futures for themselves, their children, and their communities.

Their Advanced Education programs offer clients further training to build new skills in their chosen professional field. This includes their newly launched Women’s Agriculture Credit and Training Program which gives their agriculture clients an education in technical training, risk mitigation services, business assistance, and environmental sustainability.

Friendship Bridge’s Artisan-Market-Access Program, another part of Advanced Education, offers artisan and artist clients trainings designed to ready them to access new markets, locally and globally. Several of their long-term successful clients sell their products in Friendship Bridge’s online Tipica Marketplace, which is launching its first ever Summer Collection side-by-side with this campaign! Donate today and receive a special gift from this new Summer Collection!

THE IMPACT OF GIVING

Your gift ensures every Friendship Bridge client is offered opportunities to become empowered and improve the lives of herself, her family, and her community.

Donate to this campaign and you will expand Advanced Education to even more entrepreneurs. These trainings will provide clients skills to lift themselves out of poverty. Also you will receive a special thank you gift from the Artisan’s Summer Collection! Your donation will help more than 26,000 women in Guatemala by providing education and health services to continue providing opportunities to empower the women Friendship Bridge serves.

WHY FUND US?

Friendship Bridge believes in a hand up, not a hand out. Your donation isn't charity, but rather supports long-term, sustainable solutions to poverty. You’re giving a gift of a better life and empowerment for women in Guatemala!
